Open letter to the 99%: Time to Make #NoWarWithIran a Top Priority

A decade ago, in the run up to the war w. Iraq, hundreds of thousands took to the streets in New York and cities all across the country and the world … and war happened anyway.

But was before occupy.

Our creativity, our new way of thinking about protesting, and our crowdsourcing of ideas that make us collectively so much greater than the individual sum of our parts came into being.

If a new world is in fact possible, if we are in fact Unstoppable, we need to leverage our might and bring into being a new type of protest campaign that staves off a war with Iran; that in fact, reverses the homicidal bull in a geopolitical china shop that is US foreign policy altogether and replaces it with a world that places human needs – here and elsewhere above corporate greed.

Discuss. Come together. Act.

  1. fantastic video – i sent it to everyone i know – the youth is even listening to you – we anti-war except during direct attacks on us patriots need your ideas and videos – the so called media only beats the drums of propaganda for war – everyone makes money but taxpayers get the bill and we are sick of it – this is not peace – this is just a bunch of lies and people like you point this out very clearly. thank you

  2. I really don’t know what to think anymore. I love the fact you’re making these videos to educate and hopefully mobilize people to make a change, but is it too late?

I’m not a defeatist normally, but it seems obvious we need to somehow change the mindsets of those corrupted by the promises of wealth and power. A lot of people have already drank the selfishness and the crazy of our corporate culture.

Where I live in New Brunswick, Canada, they’re already beginning to frack for shale gas in our province. (Our current provincial leader – Premier Alward attended a ‘Christian’ college in Tennessee). so probably thinks ‘man has dominion over the Earth’ to the point of failure. Our country’s prime minister, Stephen Harper, is much like George Bush was, but better spoken, and is attempting to pass Bill C130, an internet spying bill. (see Reporters Without Borders)

The local nuclear power plant in New Brunswick has proven to be a hugely, and costly white elephant, and the Irving family (oil barons with the largest refinery in Canada) control the media here and the politicians. They destroy any alternative newspaper competition.

I think its time to act…someone needs to hack (on a regular basis) into Fox, CNN, etc. newscasts with images of dead and dying women and children, the result of war actions. We need gritty and realistic truth-telling to reach the demographic segment of the population that vote, and pay attention to mainstream news.

The military/corporate/political/oil Industrial complex is so interconnected we need to do something else besides protest in the streets. We need to hit them where it hurts.
