Prison 3.previewIn what could only be described as one of the most under discussed human rights disasters in the racist, criminal empire that is the United States is the prison industrial complex. One of the reasons why it remains so under discussed is that there is an underlying ethos even among some in the first world left, that because prisoners committed a crime, a crime defined and enforced by the bourgeois state of course, their imprisonment is justified, which is an argument that dismisses environmental conditions which produce crime in the first place, which more often than not have to do with socioeconomic factors and policies that the state has put in place.
