Saying ‘Hell No’ To Obamacare

Originally posted at PopularResistance.org

Recently, Dr. Margaret Flowers initiated an online petition declaring herself a consciences objector to the Affordable Care Act and asking others to send a message to President Obama that the ACA is a scam.

In this short clip (above), Dr. Flowers states:
“The most important question we should be having right now, knowing that insurgence is not protective, is do we want to continue to treat health care as a commodity and people only get what they can afford, or do we want to join the rest of the industrialized nations in the world and treat health care as a public good and create a system where people can get what they need.”

  1. “Recently, Dr. Margaret Flowers initiated an online petition declaring herself a consciences objector to the Affordable Care Act . . . .”

I am in complete accord with Dr. Flowers. Furthermore, I reject the call by some for “Medicare for everyone”, which still costs over $100/mo, an annual deductible of $150, and a co-pay of at least $20 – IF Medicare deems the service covered. On the other hand, there is FULL COVERAGE Medicaid, complete with a plastic identity card, that covers ALL SERVICES with no monthly fee, deductible or co-pay – paid for out of federal and state income taxes. That is the coverage the rest of the ‘civilized’ world provides; that is what we should demand (and transportation costs, to and from the doctor/hospital, as in the UK).

On another note, I hate to be picky, but ‘consciences’ should be edited to read ‘conscientious’.

    Thank you.
